I just learned that Debbie Friedman has passed away.
There isn't a Jew out there who hasn't been touched by Debbie in some way - I hope. Her Mi Sheberach has meant so much to me in particular; many congregations use the tune as they pray for the healing of their friends and family members. I was privileged to see her in concert a few years ago. Despite her illness, she was incredibly energetic and inspiring. You could tell that the music touched her as much as it touches us.
I pray that her memory inspires generations of Jews to come...may her memory be for a blessing.
